SUSPECT, written and directed by Ollie Killip, was my graduation piece for my degree at De Montfort University, Leicester, made with a minimal budget by core group of 5 students. My goal was to produce the highest quality film possible with the resources, time and crew we had, and I’m very proud of how it’s turned out!
The film follows Grace, a damaged young woman who struggles to piece together her memories and defend herself against the accusations of an enigmatic interrogator. As cryptic clues are uncovered, the line between truth and deception becomes increasingly blurred through manipulation and obsession.
Pre-production began in October 2023, and after a long casting process, Tyler Astley (@tylerxastley) and Angelina Vancheri (@aiful) were cast in the leading roles.
The film released on Friday August 2nd 2024 and was shown at various film festivals including the London Global Film Awards, New York Film & Actor Awards, and the Festival of Media Stories.
The crew consisted of Ollie Killip (Writer/Director), Leah Siggers (Producer), Amy Ffitch (Editor), Dazi Dias (Director of Photography), Tegan Shepherd (Sound), and Thomas Pearce (Composer).
