For the Love of the Game: Spirit of Asia

Vision Tower Productions, 2023

FOR THE LOVE OF THE GAME: SPIRIT OF ASIA is currently in post-production and features football organisations from Vietnam, Laos, and Malaysia!

The documentary aims to educate audiences on football culture throughout Southeast Asia and showcase the vast presence that the beautiful game has on the world’s most populated continent.

By collaborating with teams both large and small, academies, coaches, players, and fans, Spirit of Asia promises to bring the beauty and passion of Asian football to a worldwide audience.

The crew includes Ollie Killip as Director, Alex Marks McLeod (AMM Productions – NHS Kent & Medway Campaign), and Thomas Pearce returning to compose, after producing the score for both Suspect (2024) and For the Love of the Game: Towson Tigers (2023).

With filming having taken place between December 2024 through to March 2025, the feature-length documentary is anticipating a Late 2025 / Early 2026 festival run, followed by an online release.

Spirit of Asia will delve into the deeply rooted traditions that have shaped football across the region, highlighting not just the game itself but the stories, struggles, and triumphs of the people who dedicate their lives to it. From the bustling streets of major cities to the serene landscapes of rural academies, the documentary captures the universal spirit of football that transcends borders and unites communities.
